Navesink River Rowing is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about all aspects of the sport of rowing. From our site - at the end of Maple Avenue in Red Bank, NJ - we maintain a fleet of boats for members to use from May through late October. We also offer lessons, coaching and summer youth programs in June, July and early August.

Youth Programs
If you are between 14 and 18, we have some great rowing opportunities for you.

  • summer programs: for novice, intermediate, and advanced youth rowers.
  • youth racing camp - summer program for competition-minded rowers selected by coaches based on erg scores and water tryouts.
  • Two-day Sculling Intensive - for youth Sweep Rowers who would like to enroll in NRR Summer Youth programs at the Intermediate, Advanced and/or Racing Level but need to learn to scull or improve their sculling skills first.

Adult Beginner Lessons
Let us introduce you to the fun and fundamentals of rowing. 

Our Learn-to-Row program involves 4 professionally coached, small group lessons for women and men 18 and older...teaches the basics of sculling in a single, sliding seat rowing shell.

Join us for the pleasure, the challenge, the exhiliration, the exercise, and the comaraderie of rowing on the Navesink River.  We have membership options for experienced rowers and  relative newcomers, college students, private boat owners, even non-rowers who want to support what we do.

Interested in Racing?
As a member of NRR you can row recreationally - for fun, fitness, or other personal goals. You can also use NRR boats, facilities and coaching resources to train for and compete in regional and national regattas.

Charge of the Lightweight Brigade: 2011 Masters National Championships Video Clip

This is a video of the HWT D 4X race in which Mark Malone’s LWT composite quad placed 2nd. The eventual winners were the ones being videoed, but about halfway through the clip, Mark’s crew comes up, seemingly out of nowhere, and appears to blow right by them.
