Head of the Navesink - 10/17/2010
This 2-plus mile race on our home river was fun to row - and watch.

Another beautiful day on the Navesink . . . Okay it was pretty cold, especially during the early races. And yes, the water was a choppy. But as NRR youth coach, Mark Malone put it, "We still pulled it off and had some great fun and great food!"
Overall, our first attempt at head racing on the Navesink River was a winner - thanks to the efforts of our race coordinator - Linda Ensor - and coaches - Mark, Linda, Phil Flego, John Crilly, and Eamonn Sweeney. Masters rowers and parents of youth rowers brought the food for a tasty brunch buffet organized by Kathy O'Donnell.
