NRR COMPETITIVE PROGRAM
|
With more and more NRR rowers - masters in particular - becoming interested in racing, we have made the development of our competitive programs a priority. If you want to be involved or to know more about what will be offered, please contact Linda Ensor

Navesink River Rowing has a long history of successful competition in major East Coast regattas and National Championships.

Racing in his own single as well as in doubles and quads, Youth Program Head Coach, Mark Malone routinely brings home gold (and other medals, beer stiens, bowls, etc) in the lightweight masters men's category.

NRR youth crews have been impressive as well, with a 3rd place finish in the doubles race at the 2007 Junior National Championships and multiple medals in head races held each year in the fall.
In 2009, relative newcomers (they began rowing a double together in May), Linda Ensor and Chrys Raheb-Gileta improved with every race and capped off an amazing season with a first place finish at the Head of the Schuylkill in October. [More 2009 race results.]
In 2010, NRR's competitive youth crews doubled in size and layed the foundation for a bright future. The number of adult (masters) rowers competing in area regattas and the USRowing Masters National Championships also grew. We held several in-house and invitiational races ourselves, including the inaugural Sprints on the 'Sink and Head of the Navesink.
