  • Youth signing up for our Summer Sculling Programs pay for programs only.  They do not have to register for memberships or pay membership fees.
  • To participate in our summer youth programs, boys and girls must be at least 14 years old and in or entering high school. The one exception to this rule is the new 8th-grade Intro to Rowing program.

ALL PROGRAMS MENTIONED ON THIS PAGE, INCLUDING THE 8TH-GRADE INTRO TO ROWING AND THE SUMMER RACING PROGRAM, ARE AVAILABLE FOR REGISTRATION THROUGH REGATTA CENTRAL.

Novice and Intermediate Youth Programs
Those interested in learning to row first enroll in a novice session. The next step for boys and girls ages 14 to 18 who have completed an NRR novice youth program (or taken another beginner sculling program with at least six sessions on the water or done some sweep rowing and completed a NRR sculling intensive) is to enroll in an intermediate program. Registration for the novice and intermediate sessions takes place at Regatta Central.
  • SESSIONS AVAILABLE: View the 2018 schedule at Regatta Central; it is available during the registration process, and the number of available seats is updated in real time.

 Youth Small Boats Program
4 days a week ~ One-week sessions offered 6 times in 2016 ~ Register in advance for up to 3 sessions. Add more later if space is available.
Single-week (4 days/week) program for youth (boys and girls 14-18) with sculling experience. Can be taken along with or in addition to other NRR programs during the same summer.
  • Youth, with coach supervision and instruction, scull in singles or doubles to improve technique, form, balance, and speed (all of which translate to any boat or rowing situation).
  • Small groups with instruction tailored to individual ability, interests, and goals
  • Prior sculling experience is required. (Could be another NRR program taken earlier the same season or sweep experience plus a NRR sculling intensive program.)
  • SESSIONS AVAILABLE:  The 2018 schedule is available at Regatta Central; it is available during the registration process, and the number of available seats is updated in real time.
